Renewals

In most countries trademark registrations remain valid for a period of 10 years. After this period the trademark owner shall have the right to extend registration for another 10 years. Trademark registrations can be extended for an indefinite period of time.

If a trademark right is not renewed on time, this will in the usually mean losing your rights. Therefore, we strongly recommend taking the appropriate steps on time.

Renewal database

Nederlandsch Octrooibureau has an extensive and advanced database in which renewal deadlines are carefully monitored. If you decide to have us monitor your trademark registration, your trademark registration will automatically be included in this database, in which case and if necessary you will receive three reminders to inform you about the possibility to extend your trademark registration.
