Search and watch

In some cases it is important to keep abreast of third parties’ patent rights, and any alterations therein. The 'Search and Watch' department of Nederlandsch Octrooibureau can be of assistance, for instance when you wish to:  

• remain informed of a competitor’s activities in a certain field
• follow the procedure to grant of a threatening patent application in order to take action in time, for instance by means of opposition proceedings
• follow the entire developments in a certain technical/scientific field. 

Search

Patents are registered in official registers and databases. In collaboration with a patent attorney, Nederlandsch Octrooibureau’s investigator will search the most important registers and databases. During the investigation he will apply several approaches. Examples of possible search keys are company name, inventor, product properties, but  there are many additional possibilities.

Strategy

The 'Search and Watch' department of Nederlandsch Octrooibureau will gather specific information in your  field of interest on a regular basis, and report  the results to you. A patent attorney analyses the obtained information and advises you on potential follow-up strategies.
