Availability search

To determine the validity of your design in advance, we will need to verify whether identical or similar designs have already been registered, for instance in the Benelux Register or perhaps the European Register. The reason to do this is that, during the registration procedure, no official research is conducted into previous registrations of conflicting designs.

Search possibilities

Current requests for registration, however, cannot be studied given the fact that they are not public. To conduct a search a picture of the design will be used instead. Design registrations can also be studied according to the name of a certain design owner.

Carrying out a search provides insight in the competitors’ registration behaviour. Also, it usually provides a good idea of designs that exist in certain fields.
