Syncom has won the Pfizer Route Design Innovation Award. The award was presented to Syncom in September during the 2011 ChemOutsourcing Conference in Long Branch, New Jersey (USA). This is the second time the award is conferred.
The innovation challenge was initiated by Pfizer, one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies, to generate new and improved routes of synthesis for the manufacture of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API’s) and intermediates.
For a specific Pfizer API, Syncom designed several novel and innovative routes to improve the current API manufacturing process. The winning Syncom route provides solutions in dealing with hazardous chemicals and creates the opportunity for significant cost of goods savings.
Syncom, based in Groningen (NL), provides tailor-made custom synthesis solutions for, amongst others, the pharmaceutical, biotech and fine-chemical industry. Syncom’s activities include synthesis of key building blocks, route scouting services, process R&D activities, scale up, medicinal chemistry services and hit-to-lead optimization. In addition, Syncom has a world class reputation when it comes to chiral technology.
