The profession

You will be carefully coached by several seniors, offering you the chance to quickly reach a higher level.

Attorneys in training can count on intensive coaching. During the first years you will follow an external course to become a patent or trademark and design attorney. Having successfully completed the course you will sign up in the register and continue to develop into a highly valued International IP expert.

 

Position requirements

To become a patent attorney (in training) you must be a university graduate in (Technical) Physics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Bio Sciences. Modest experience in the manufacturing industry and/or holding a doctoral degree has the preference. For the position of trademark and design attorney (in training) you will need a successfully completed university Law programme, specialising in Intellectual Property Right.

 

Bearing in mind the strong international character of our activities, active command of the English language is required; (passive) knowledge of Dutch, French and German is preferred. We offer Dutch language training to our non-native speakers. Also, you are expected to have commercial insight, a strong analytical mind, spirit of enterprise and excellent verbal and writing skills.
