
Herman joined Nederlandsch Octrooibureau on 1 December 2010. He is charged with the day-to-day management of Nederlandsch Octrooibureau and is at the head of the management team.
After Nima C, Herman joined the Henley Management College and obtained his management diploma. He successfully took the Postgraduate Business Strategy Course at the University of Groningen. Herman is now following the Master of Compliance & Integrity Management programme at the VU University Amsterdam.
From 1990 to 1995 Herman was the General Division manager at Neckermann Business Services, a subsidiary of Neckermann Nederland specialising in loyalty marketing programmes. In 1995 he became managing director at OgilvyOne Nederland BV, one of the prominent marketing communication agencies worldwide and also in the Netherlands.
Between 2000 and 2003 Herman used to work at VivendiUniversal, also as the Managing Director for Vizzavi Nederland BV, a Consumers Portal and free Internet Service Provider. He was also co-responsible for developing and introducing the mobile Internet service Vodafone Live!
From 2003 to 2008 he was the managing director and board member of Van Doorne NV, a prominent independent Dutch law firm. In addition to being responsible for the operational processes, Herman particularly dedicated himself to realising qualitative growth partly through customer and market orientation.
Herman then spent two years as the Chief Operating Officer for CB Richard Ellis Nederland BV, where he was also responsible for Compliance.
Since foundation in 2002 Herman has been board member and secretary of Stichting KiKa Kinderen Kankervrij (Dutch foundation for Child Cancer); in 2008 he became a member of the board of governors of the Comenius College in Capelle aan den IJssel.
